In their National Air Pollution Control Programme (NAPCP), Member States set out how they intend to achieve emission reduction commitments of the NEC Directive.

Member States must submit updated NAPCPs at least every four years. The first NAPCPs were due by 1 April 2019. All submitted NAPCPs and their English translations are available below.

Member States also submit air pollutant emission projections every two years, most recently in March 2025 (available in the Eionet Central Data Repository website).

NAPCPs must follow the standard format specified in the Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1522.

To help Member States prepare their NAPCP, the Commission has issued a Communication on Guidance for the development of National Air Pollution Control Programmes.

The Commission, with the support of external contractors, reviews and analyses NAPCPs and projections. You can find the latest results of each Member State's analysis below.

The European Environment Agency (EEA) publishes a Policies and Measures (PaMs) dashboard that summarises key data based on Member State policies and measures. They also make the full dataset of the policies and measures database available.
