Maldives - Develop emission inventories for the Maldives transport sector [MV-22-002] Share SHARE Facebook share Twitter LinkedIn Copy URL Email Breadcrumb Home Maldives - Develop Emission Inventories For The Maldives Transport Sector [MV-22-002] Opening Date: 6 December 2022 Closing Date: 31 January 2023 Estimated project cost: USD 75,000 Overview This project responds to the request by the Maldives’ Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology to provide training to strengthen institutional capacity to develop transportation emission inventories to provide more specific data (i.e., beyond LEAP) to build more accurate inventories. The project builds on the Maldives’ National SLCP Plan, and other government policies such as the National Action Plan on Air Pollutants. Expected project outcomes Through the proposed outputs and activities, the project should achieve the following by its completion: Maldives’s government has increased capacity to evaluate and implement transportation measures based on improved transportation emission inventories. Minimum required outputs The project should deliver at a minimum: A report on transportation emission inventories summarizing data sources used (national and international sources), processing procedures, and recommendations of the organizations where indicator data can be obtained for the transport sector, including major data gaps Capacity development in support of transportation emission inventories applying guidelines and tools (e.g., excel spreadsheets) At least two workshops with relevant stakeholders to support development of more accurate transportation emission inventories for the Maldives Applicants are encouraged to propose additional outputs as needed to ensure the expected project outcomes are achieved. Eligibility requirements To be eligible for consideration, project proposals must meet the following requirements: The application form is complete and submitted before the deadline All applicants are registered as a nonprofit organisation, non-governmental organization (NGO), or intergovernmental organization (IGO) and able to prove their status All minimum required outputs are included in project plan The amount of funding requested falls within the indicated budget range Spending caps on 'incidental procurement' expenses are respected (see guidance document above) The project duration is less than 24 months How to apply Eligible applicants are invited to apply before the deadline by downloading the Application Form. It is recommended that applicants review the Guidance for Applicants prior to completing the Application Form. Proposals will be evaluated against the following criteria: Quality: the clarity of the proposed outputs and activities and the extent to which they will deliver the expected outcomes Experience: evidence of the project team’s understanding of the national planning process and short-lived climate pollutants, and their ability to deliver the proposed project Value for money: the level of funding requested for project delivery Alignment: how well the proposal demonstrates its contribution to the CCAC 2030 Strategy and National Planning, Policy, and Implementation Engagement Strategy Evaluation process A preliminary review of proposals submitted by the deadline will be conducted by members of the CCAC Secretariat, Funding Task Team and Board, in consultation with relevant CCAC Partners. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to present their proposals in further detail and to respond to follow-up questions about their application. Successful applicants will be invited to develop a Project Implementation Plan and Detailed Budget in consultation with the CCAC Secretariat and relevant CCAC Partners.
