About

Ghana is the first West African country to move ahead with its pledge to put in place strong measures to reduce vehicle emissions by revising standards so that all diesel entering the country has a sulfur content of 50 parts per million (ppm), down from 3000 ppm. The National Petroleum Authority has been key to the development and adoption of the new standards and has established a standing committee for the purpose of implementation, monitoring and enforcement.
