Overview

The aim of this project is to support Jordan’s Ministry of Environment in identifying priority SLCP mitigation measures to be included in Jordan’s revised Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC). This will build on previous CCAC projects including a draft national short-lived climate pollutant (SLCP) action plan.

Expected project outcomes

Through the proposed outputs and activities, the project should achieve the following by its completion:

  • Jordan’s government endorses the policy analysis and recommendations on SLCP mitigation measures.

Minimum required outputs

The project should deliver at a minimum:

  • A report that includes the following:
    • Review of plans, policies, strategies, and laws in Jordan and the identification of their effectiveness for reducing SLCP emissions;
    • Identification of concrete implementation pathways for priority SLCP mitigation measures in key source sectors (waste, agriculture).

Applicants are encouraged to propose additional outputs as needed to ensure the expected project outcomes are achieved.

To be eligible for consideration, project proposals must meet the following requirements:

  • Experience: evidence of the project team’s understanding of the national planning process and short-lived climate pollutants, and their ability to deliver the proposed project
  • Value for money: the level of funding requested for project delivery
  • Alignment: how well the proposal demonstrates its contribution to the CCAC 2030 Strategy and National Planning, Policy, and Implementation Engagement Strategy
