Summary

The Culmination Workshop will present Morocco’s National Cooling Action Plan, the approach used to develop it, and priority actions for sustainable, efficient and climate-resilient cooling.

With funding support from the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development – Department of Sustainable Development, in partnership with UNEP and the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), led the project to develop Morocco’s National Cooling Action Plan (NCAP).

Morocco’s NCAP aims to establish an integrated vision for the cooling sector and identify priority measures to meet future demand in a sustainable, efficient and resilient manner. This aligns with Morocco’s climate and environmental commitments, notably the Global Cooling Pledge and the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol.

The NCAP serves as a guiding and planning tool, enabling Morocco to support the transformation of the cooling sector while balancing the imperatives of development, energy efficiency, climate resilience and environmental protection.

The Culmination Workshop aims to

  • Present the approaches and steps taken to develop Morocco’s NCAP
  • Present the final NCAP action plan for Morocco
  • Engage with key sector stakeholders to foster ownership and implementation of the plan
