Job Opening: CCAC International Agricultural Methane Planning Expert

We are now seeking one International Methane Planning Expert for the agriculture sector, collaborating with the Government of Azerbaijan to develop a methane reduction roadmap for the agriculture (livestock sub-sector) sector.

The expected outputs of the consultancy are:  

• Collection and Analysis of Azerbaijan’s Livestock Sector Data Sets  - Gather and analyze available datasets on Azerbaijan’s livestock subsector, including detailed information on livestock populations.  

- Verify and review datasets on the categorization of farming systems in Azerbaijan, including pasture-based systems, beef production, and dairy cattle, and share relevant links.  

 â€¢ Technical Assessment of Azerbaijan’s Methane Inventory  

- Identify the Tier level methodology used in Azerbaijan’s livestock sector methane inventory.  

- Assess the tools and methodologies employed by Azerbaijan in its inventory development process and evaluate their alignment with international standards.   

• Comprehensive Stakeholder Engagement Plan 
 - Identify and list key stakeholders required for the roadmap consultation process, including but not limited to the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, farmers councils, and other relevant organizations.  
- Support the drafting of the methane roadmap in coordination with the National Consultant   

• Submission of Regular Progress Reports  - Provide periodic progress reports summarising activities such as data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and roadmap development to ensure transparency and alignment with project goals.    

Periodic report should include:  
-  Technical inputs and recommendations generated in the period.  
- The dialogue supports, inputs, comments, and agreements that emerged from the cross-sectoral discussions and dialogues.  
- Summary of the technical agreements on the definition of the methodology.
