It provides 10 practical recommendations that will boost economic growth and reduce climate risk. These recommendations, including phasing down the use of HFCs, could deliver up to 96% of the emissions reductions required by 2030 to keep our planet on a pathway to keep global warming under 2°C. And these are actions that would also deliver multiple economic benefits. The report includes a section on HFCs in support of an amendment to the Montreal Protocol and relates to other aspects of CCAC's agenda in respect of urban waste management (section: Accelerating Low-Carbon Development in the World’s Cities), fuel economy standards (section: Raising Energy Efficiency Standards to the Global Best) and energy access (section: Investing at Least a Trillion Dollars a Year in Clean Energy). garbage-279776_1280.jpg The report calls for stronger cooperation between governments, businesses, investors, cities and communities to drive economic growth in the emerging low-carbon economy. International and multistakeholder cooperation can scale up technological change, expand markets, reduce costs, address concerns about international competitiveness, spread best practice and increase the flows of finance.
