Manfredi’s passion, determination, and brilliant mind made him a driving force in the fight against methane emissions. His absence will be deeply felt—not only as a colleague, but as a true partner in purpose. This month, we take you inside London Climate Action Week 2025, where the Coalition made the case for fast action on super pollutants to protect health, drive equity, and spark economic growth. We also highlight the Africa Clean Air Programme’s milestone roadmap workshop in Accra, and don’t miss our open Call for Proposals on food loss and waste! London Climate Action Week 2025At London Climate Action Week 2025, the Coalition convened to accelerate climate, clean air, and economic solutions that center health, equity, and environmental justice. From policy roundtables at the House of Lords to regional dialogues on finance and innovation, partners underscored how cutting super pollutants delivers immediate benefits for vulnerable communities, spurs sustainable economic growth, and clears the air we all share. As momentum builds toward COP30, the Coalition’s work highlights that tackling short-lived climate pollutants is not just a climate imperative—it’s a moral and economic one, safeguarding lives, livelihoods, and the planet.Read our daily updates from the week here:DAY 1 DAY 2 DAY 3 Coalition of Leaders Targets Super Pollutants for Fast Climate and Clean Air Gains Ahead of COP30As part of a series of high-level convenings hosted by the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) during London Climate Action Week (LCAW2025), UK Secretary of State Ed Miliband, EU Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra, COP30 President-Designate Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, and UK Climate Minister Kerry McCarthy, and Deputy Mayor London for Environment and Energy, Mete Coban, rallied political will and signal growing momentum to place super pollutant action at the heart of global climate agenda on the road to COP30. Image Call for Proposals: CCAC Food & Nutrition Challenge 2025 Image The CCAC is now accepting proposals for innovative, cross-sector projects that tackle food loss and waste while cutting super pollutants and reducing malnutrition. This year’s challenge seeks scalable solutions that deliver climate, health, and food security benefits—especially through waste prevention, sustainable cold chains, and circular bioeconomy practices. Projects must address at least two key focus areas. Submit your concept note by 6 August 2025 to be considered!Apply hereProject update: Colombia Shares Experiences and Advances in Strengthening Methane Monitoring in Coal MiningColombia is stepping up efforts to monitor methane in coal mining with a national workshop that convened public agencies, civil society, and global experts. Reimagining Manure: Innovative Alternatives for Modern Agriculture10 July, 14:30 (Paris)In this webinar, the CCAC will explore a range of cost-effective strategies to reduce methane emissions from manure management, a critical interface between agricultural practices and organic waste mitigation. It will go beyond anaerobic digesters, examine key trade-offs, including the risk of increasing other potent emissions, and the need for infrastructure change. The webinar will provide case studies on these technologies and approaches in both developed and developing country contexts. Clearing the Air: Integrating Black Carbon & Air Quality into NDC11 July, 14:00 (Paris)This webinar is part of a series designed to equip relevant government ministries, national consultants, and implementing partners with practical knowledge, tools, and collaborative approaches to raise climate ambition and accelerate sector-specific action. Through case studies, technical resources, and peer learning, participants will strengthen their capacity to evaluate, design, and implement non-CO2 Pollutant measures. Key topics include MRV systems, policy planning, and financing pathways, all aimed at unlocking the full potential of non-CO2 Pollutant mitigation as part of a comprehensive climate strategy. CLEAN-Air Forum 202515 - 17 July, 8:00 (Nairobi)The CLEAN-Air Forum is an annual convening for the communities of practice in Africa and serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, collaborations, multi-regional partnerships, and networks to tackle air pollution in African cities. This year’s theme Partnerships for Clean Air Solutions seeks to strengthen cross-border transdisciplinary partnerships, evidence generation and capacity for advancing clean air solutions in Africa. Leading with Livestock: Integrating Agricultural Methane Mitigation into NDCs 3.0 16 July, 14:00 (Paris)This webinar is part of a series that offers actionable insights on how to integrate mitigation and adaptation strategies in NDCs that are ambitious, bankable, and measurable.
