This newsletter brings you follow-up thoughts from members of the CCAC leadership on the importance of the resolution. Also, we bring you summaries from the 2024 Global Methane Forum – hosted by the Global Methane Initiative (GMI) and United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), in partnership with UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition and the Global Methane Hub – covering lessons learned, and discuss the pathway toward meeting the Global Methane Pledge (GMP).This month we also published two new in-depth publications. The first is the latest in our Q+A series with CCAC experts, this time on the challenges in achieving solutions for reducing SLCP emissions the agriculture sector. The second is a case study of one of our recently concluded waste methane mitigation projects in Costa Rica, which provides insights for policy makers and project implementers. Unpacking The Newly Adopted UNEA-6 Resolution With increased global attention on air pollution, and particularly the life-threatening impacts on human health and wellbeing, a global resolution on air pollution was passed, calling for increased regional cooperation as well as the development of national programmes, policies and standards. To help unpack the importance of the resolution, the Secretariat recently sat down with members of the CCAC’s leadership on its expected impact globally, and how the CCAC will champion an integrated approach that addresses the whole of the planetary crisis.
