UN declares healthy environment a human right

The United Nations General Assembly has passed a historic resolution declaring that everyone on the planet has a right to a healthy environment, including clean air, water, and a stable climate. 

The resolution is part of a growing global movement to enshrine environmental protections into law, and could help accelerate action to cut SLCP emissions.
