To mark the beginning of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021 – 2030, CCAC scientists spoke in an interview about the importance of reducing methane and other short-lived climate pollutants to protect the planet’s vital ecosystems over the coming decades.

2021 Call for proposals: CCAC Action Programme The Action Programme to Address the 1.5˚C Challenge has launched a $1,000,000 call for proposals for projects that support national or regional actions to reduce SLCPs. Eligible applicants are invited to apply any time before 31 August.

Call for expert reviewers The Climate and Clean Air Coalition, with Beijing University of Technology and Energy Research Institute of China, are seeking nominations for expert technical reviewers for the First Order Draft (FOD) of an Integrated Assessment for China’s Paris and Air Quality Targets report (working title). The review period will be open from 15 May-15 July. Please direct all nominees to register using the online form.

July 6-8: World Biogas Summit 2021 Drew Shindell, the Climate & Clean Air Coalition's Special Representative for Action on Methane, will present the findings of the Global Methane Assessment at this event focused on gas capture from organic waste.

July 7: Regional Dialogue for LAC: Ambitions to reduce emissions in the livestock sector This is a first in a 3-part series of online regional dialogues that will identify technical and institutional priorities, capacities and financing mechanisms required and to strengthen coordination between countries.

July 8: CCAC Working Group meeting (for partners only) The next Working Group will focus on finalizing the draft CCAC Engagement Strategies for the CCAC Board’s approval in September 2021. There will be two timeslots to facilitate participation.

July 9: Enhancing Climate Change Commitments to improve air quality and human health: Practical experience from the United Kingdom, and across Asia and the Pacific In this Asia Pacific Climate Week side event, representatives from the UK, countries in Asia-Pacific, and CCAC partner organisations will share their experiences with updating NDCs and related policies.
