The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced its commitment to reducing short-lived climate pollutants to improve air quality and protect the climate in 2019.
Activities to reduce these pollutants have been included in many of the country's existing actions, including its Climate Change Plan, Adaptation Programme, Energy Strategy and Green Development Strategy, which set measurable, national targets to address the causes and impacts of climate change and support the country's transition to a climate-resilient, green economy.
At the Coalition's 11th High Level Assembly in 2019, the UAE's Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, showed his support for the Coalition's 2030 Vision with the symbolic signing of the vision statement.
