While many countries are still fighting the pandemic, we must not forget that there are even bigger challenges in the form of climate change just around the corner. Covid-19 recovery plans provide a major opportunity to reduce the risks of both pandemics and climate disasters. The CCAC’s approach to accelerating climate action with multiple benefits and cleaner air is indeed one of the strategies to consider for the post pandemic recovery - and is supported by multiple scientists and experts as a solution for reducing emissions while stimulating the economy. CCAC partners are working now to develop an ambitious strategy to realise our 2030 Vision for an atmosphere that enables people and the planet to thrive, with warming limited to 1.5ºC and drastically reduced air pollution. Partners are currently commenting on the draft strategy and a sector analysis, which will help us define our priorities for the future. The final strategy will be shared with all later this year. Together we will catalyse action to raise ambition. Efficient, Climate-friendly Cooling Would Avoid up to 0.4˚C of Warming by 2100 and Save Trillions of Dollars Coordinated action on energy-efficient, climate-friendly cooling could avoid as much as 460 billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions over the next four decades, according to new report. Reducing Emissions Intensity to Feed the Planet— Now and in the Future The Climate and Clean Air Coalition is working to intensify dairy and meat production with the fewest greenhouse gas emissions possible.
