A new report 'Tackling Non-CO2 Emissions: Pathways for Himachal Pradesh,' by the Himachal Pradesh Government, India and IGSD, shows methane and black carbon accelerating Himalayan glacier melt. Solutions include EV adoption, biogas expansion, improved livestock practices, and stronger waste systems. Read more 

At the World Sustainable Development Summit 2026, 25–27 February 2026 at the Taj Palace, New Delhi, Martina Otto, Head of CCAC Secretariat, warned that “every fraction of a degree now determines whether ecosystems survive or collapse.”

 

Spotlight of the Month: Biocovers 

New CCAC-Technology and Economic Assessment Panel guidance highlights biocovers as a low-cost landfill methane solution, using natural microbial oxidation where gas capture isn’t feasible. Governments and developers can deploy them now as part of integrated waste-methane strategies.
