It also assesses the political, institutional, and national capacity and readiness to absorb large-scale funding to support mitigation measures in the rice sector under the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) initiative that is led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). This report is a deliverable of the CCAC project, “Promoting Global Best Practices and Scaling of Low Emissions Technologies by Engaging the Private and Public Sectors in the Paddy Rice Sector” implemented by the UNEP Regional Office of Asia and the Pacific. This project will identify opportunities and approaches to mitigate the Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCPs) from rice sector by fostering sustainable, climate-smart practices in rice cultivation management at farmers level, and to improve the capacity of key agencies to scale-up the SLCP mitigation packages.
