Government Action to Reduce Methane from the Livestock Sector

-
(Berlin)
Virtual

The livestock sector is an important emitter of methane, responsible for 32% of all emissions worldwide. It is also a vital economic sector, not only for large-scale industrial production, but especially for smallholder farmers.

Methods such as improving manure management as well as feed and animal health can substantially cut methane emissions. Such actions can help achieve climate targets and other sustainable development objectives simultaneously.

In this webinar, representatives from the governments of Uruguay and Indonesia will share their experience in regulating and governing methane emissions from the livestock sector. Their examples illustrate how government support for cutting methane emissions also enhances food security.
