The research finds that combining organic waste management interventions could avoid up to 1.3 million tonnes of CO₂-equivalent methane emissions annually by 2035, while producing enough compost to fertilize approximately 271,000 hectares of maize and enough biogas to support around 628,000 meals each year. The study is linked to the development of an inclusive National Organic Waste Management Strategy for Uganda.
